McAfee Security for Lotus Domino can be installed and configured to protect one or more Lotus Domino servers on the host. You can install McAfee Security for Lotus Domino in standard or silent mode. NOTE: - Before installation, ensure that the ‘Windows Net Logon Service’ is running on the Windows server. - Installation should be performed on the supported windows platform that has all the latest applicable Microsoft patches installed on it. - If you want to install additional software components: - McAfee Anti-Spam Add-On for Lotus Domino - McAfee Buffer Overflow Protection support via VirusScan You must select them in the installer. McAfee Anti-Spam Add-On component for Lotus Domino requires license key for activation. Refer McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, version 7.5 (Windows) – User Guide for more details. STANDARD INSTALLATION NOTE: To deploy McAfee Security for Lotus Domino using ePolicy Orchestrator, refer to the respective ‘Integrating with ePolicy Orchestrator’ section in the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, version 7.5 (Windows) User Guide. You can find the user guide under ‘Manuals’ folder in the .ZIP package. Installing McAfee Security for Lotus Domino in standalone mode helps you to protect one or more partitions on a single host. 1. Using an administrative account, log on to the server running Lotus Domino. 2. QUIT Lotus Domino server, if it is running. 3. Create a temporary directory on the network or your local drive. 4. To install, do one of the following depending on how you obtained the software: - Insert the CD into the computer’s drive and copy the installation files into the temporary directory you created. - Download the MSDW75ENL.ZIP (for licensed version) or MSDW75ENE.ZIP (for evaluation version) archive and extract the file to the temporary directory. 5. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where you copied the installation files and double-click SETUP.EXE. The ‘Welcome to McAfee Security for Lotus Domino installation’ dialog box appears. 6. Click ‘Next’. The ‘Component selection’ dialog box appears, with the list of software components you can install. 7. Select the software component you wish to install and click ‘Next’. The ‘McAfee End User License Agreement’ dialog box appears. 8. Select the ‘License expiry type’ and ‘Select location where purchased and used’ from the drop-down list. 9. Select ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’, and click ‘OK’. The ‘Welcome to McAfee Security for Lotus Domino Installation Wizard’ dialog box appears. 10. Click ‘Next’. The ‘Destination Folder’ dialog box appears. 11. Click ‘Browse’ to select a different folder or click ‘Next’ to install the software in the default directory. The ‘Select Features’ dialog box appears. 12. Select ‘WebUI’, if you want to manage McAfee Security for Lotus Domino using a web browser and click ‘Next’. The ‘WebUI Configuration feature’ dialog box appears. 13. Select ‘On IIS Server’ or ‘On Domino HTTP’ to configure WebUI feature. 14. Click ‘Next’. The ‘Ready to Install the Application’ dialog box appears. 15. Click ‘Next’. The ‘Updating System’ dialog box appears displaying a progress bar indicating the features being copied, initialized and installed. 16. Click ‘Finish’ to complete the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino installation process. NOTE: If you have selected ‘McAfee Anti-Spam for Lotus Domino (Evaluation)’ in the ‘Component selection’ dialog box, the ‘McAfee Add On Package installation wizard’ dialog box appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 17. Select the required option(s), then click ‘Finish’. You can select: - View ReadMe - Update Product (DAT/Engine) - Launch Product Configuration UI - Launch Protection Manager 18. After installing the software, you must protect your Domino servers using Protection Manager. See ‘Protecting the Domino server partitions using Protection Manager’ section. 19. Upon successful installation, the following are available from the Start | Programs | McAfee | Security for Lotus Domino menu: - Access Control Manager - Product Configuration - Protection Manager - Product Configuration (Web) NOTE: Web option appears only when the WebUI option selected. 20. Start the Lotus Domino server. SILENT INSTALLATION The McAfee Security for Lotus Domino installation is performed by MSI. You can set the properties used by the MSI, either by editing the SILENT.INI file or by passing the properties directly to the MSI using the command line. During silent installation, all configured partitions are protected as standalone by default. NOTE: Before installation please ensure that the Windows Net Logon Service is running on the Windows server. 1. Using an administrative account, log on to the server running Lotus Domino. 2. QUIT Lotus Domino server if it is running. 3. Create a temporary directory on your local drive. 4. To install, do one of the following depending on how you obtained the software: - Insert the CD into the computer’s drive and copy the installation files into the temporary directory you created. - Download the MSDW75ENL.ZIP (for licensed version) or MSDW75ENE.ZIP (for evaluation version) archive and extract the file to the temporary directory. 5. Go to Command prompt. Change the directory to the temporary folder where you have extracted the installation files. 6. Ensure the SETUP.MSI file is located in the temporary folder. Check if all the necessary parameters have been configured within the SILENT.INI file. NOTE: Run ‘SILENT.BAT’, if you want to install all McAfee Security for Lotus Domino components by default. To customize silent installation, modify ‘SILENT.BAT’ and ‘SILENT.INI’. These files contain detailed instructions on how to customize silent installation parameters. 7. From the command prompt, make sure that: - The ‘SETUP.MSI’ file is located in the temporary folder. - All necessary parameters have been configured within the ‘SILENT.INI’ file. 8. Type the following command and press Enter: msiexec /qb /i NOTE: For example if the Temporary Directory = C:\MSDW75, then the command is: msiexec /qb /i C:\MSDW75\SETUP.MSI 9. After installing the software, you must protect your Domino servers using Protection Manager. See ‘Protecting the Domino server partitions using Protection Manager’ section. 10. Upon successful installation, the following are available from the Start | Programs | McAfee | Security for Lotus Domino menu: - Access Control Manager - Product Configuration - Protection Manager - Product Configuration (Web) 11. Start the Lotus Domino server. PROTECTING THE PARTITIONS USING PROTECTION MANAGER The Protection Manager helps you protect or unprotect your Domino server(s). It enables you to select the Domino server(s) that you want the software to protect. You can install McAfee Security for Lotus Domino in a standalone or reference configuration and use a partition server in either scenario. Before performing protect/unprotect task using Protection Manager, shut down all Lotus Domino servers. McAfee Security for Lotus Domino will scan messages only on partitions that are protected. 1. From the ‘Start’ menu, click ‘Programs’ | ‘McAfee’ | ‘Security for Lotus Domino’ | ‘Protection Manager’. The ‘McAfee Protection Manager’ window appears. NOTE: You can also access Protection Manager by double-clicking the McAfee Protection Manager icon on the desktop. 2. Select ‘Standalone’ under ‘Configuration Type’. 3. Select the Lotus Domino server under ‘Data Directory’ and click ‘Protect’. The ‘Summary’ dialog box appears. 4. Click ‘Yes’ to continue. The ‘Protection Status’ changes to ‘Protected’ against the partition. 5. Click ‘Exit’ to close the Protection Manager Utility. 6. Start the Lotus Domino server. PROTECTING THE PARTITIONS USING REFERENCED METHOD You can use the Referenced method to protect Domino server(s) on a computer while sharing configuration with another computer. One of the Domino servers on the computer is configured as Local server and exchanges configuration with another Domino server (secondary server) on a different computer. The secondary Domino server can be referenced using the primary Domino server’s IP address or fully qualified domain name. This method allows you to have common anti-virus settings across multiple sites/servers by replicating the settings of one server. Configuring Primary Server: 1. Follow instructions provided in STANDARD INSTALLATION section and PROTECTING THE PARTITIONS USING PROTECTION MANAGER section for Primary server. Configuring Secondary (Additional) server: 2. Follow instructions provided in STANDARD INSTALLATION section for Secondary (Additional) server. 3. On the Secondary server, ‘Start’ menu, click ‘Programs’ | ‘McAfee’ | ‘Security for Lotus Domino’ | ‘Protection Manager’. The ‘McAfee Protection Manager’ window appears. 4. From ‘Configuration Type’, select ‘Referenced’, then click ‘Add’. The ‘Referenced Settings’ dialog box appears. 5. Type the IP address/hostname of the primary server under ‘Referenced’. 6. Select the local server from the ‘Local’ drop-down list, then click ‘Apply’. 7. If prompted, type the password of the secondary server, then click ‘OK’. 8. Click ‘Protect’. A summary window appears with the configuration details. 9. Click ‘Yes’ to continue. The ‘Protection Status’ changes to ‘Protected’ against the partition. 10. Click ‘Exit’ to close the Protection Manager Utility. UPGRADING TO MCAFEE SECURITY FOR LOTUS DOMINO McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, v7.5 on Windows supports upgrading your configuration settings from the following product(s): - McAfee GroupShield 7.0 Patch 1 for Lotus Domino - McAfee GroupShield 7.0 Patch 2 for Lotus Domino 1. QUIT the Lotus Domino server. 2. During installation, McAfee Security for Lotus Domino detects the McAfee GroupShield 7.0 Patch 1/Patch 2 for Lotus Domino on your computer and automatically installs McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, v7.5 software. 3. Follow the steps mentioned in the ‘Standard Installation’ section to complete the upgrade process. 4. Start the Lotus Domino server. TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION You can test the operation of the software by running the EICAR Standard Anti-Virus Test File on any computer where you have installed the software. The EICAR Standard Anti-Virus Test File is a combined effort by anti-virus vendors throughout the world to implement one standard by which customers can verify their anti-virus installations. To test your installation: 1. Start the Lotus Domino server. 2. Copy the following line into its own file, making sure you do not include any spaces or line breaks. Save the file with the name EICAR.COM. X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H* The file size will be 68 or 70 bytes. 3. Start McAfee Security for Lotus Domino software; send an email using your Notes client with EICAR.COM as an attachment. Check the mail in the recipient’s mailbox. The mail must contain a file WARNING.TXT attached which replaces the sample virus file EICAR.COM. This action is as per the default settings of the product. IMPORTANT: Please note that this file EICAR.COM is NOT A VIRUS. For more information on the EICAR test file, visit: http://www.eicar.org REMOVING YOUR INSTALLATION 1. Using an administrative account, log on to the server running Lotus Domino. 2. QUIT Lotus Domino server if it is running. 3. From the ‘Start’ menu, click ‘Settings’ | ‘Control Panel’. The ‘Control Panel’ window appears. 4. Double-click ‘Add or Remove Programs’. The ‘Add or Remove Programs’ window appears. 5. Select ‘McAfee Security for Lotus Domino’ and click ‘Remove’. A confirmation dialog box appears. 6. Click ‘Yes’ to uninstall the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino software. NOTE: To remove McAfee Security for Lotus Domino using ePolicy Orchestrator, refer to the respective ‘Integrating with ePolicy Orchestrator’ section in the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, version 7.5 (Windows) User Guide. You can find the user guide under ‘Manuals’ folder in the .ZIP package. __________________________________________________________ KNOWN ISSUES The known issues are grouped into these sub-sections: - Installation Issues - Upgrade Issues - Scanner Issues - ePolicy Orchestrator Issues - McAfee Quarantine Manager Issues - Other Issues INSTALLATION ISSUES 1. When McAfee Security for Lotus Domino was installed using silent mode on Windows 2008 Server, the error "RTVScan version mismatch" occurred. WORKAROUND: Retry installing the software. Reference ID: 491673 2. The McAfee Anti-spam Rules Updater service was not installed after installing McAfee Anti-Spam add-on component. WORKAROUND: To manually install the AntiSpam Rules Updater service: a. From the command prompt, execute the following command: Maserulesupdater.exe –i DEFAULT PATH: C:\Program Files\McAfee\Security for Lotus Domino\bin b. From the Services console, start the "McAfee AntiSpam Rules Updater" service. Reference ID: 467146 UPGRADE ISSUES 1. When McAfee Security for Lotus Domino upgrade is cancelled or failed, the next installation will not have the old POSTGRES data. WORKAROUND: a. Stop the Domino server. b. From the Services console, stop the "McAfee Security for Lotus Domino" service. c. Rename the "Upgrade_Data" folder to "Data". DEFAULT PATH: C:\Program Files\McAfee\GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7\ d. From the Services console, start the "McAfee Security for Lotus Domino" service. e. Start the Domino server and retry installing the software. Reference ID: 484641 SCANNER ISSUES 1. Dead Mails may appear when third party archiving software is installed after installing McAfee Security for Lotus Domino. WORKAROUND: Modify the extension manager entry in NOTES.INI. Ensure the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino is the last entry. EXAMPLE: EXTMGR_ADDINS=, MCAFEEEM Reference ID: 276218 2. Release or download of Quarantine items may not work when "McAfee Security for Lotus Domino" service is restarted. WORKAROUND: Type following commands in Domino console: tell mcafeeaddinmgr quit load mcafeeaddinmgr Reference ID: 324068 3. Sometimes when the computer with McAfee Security for Lotus Domino was restarted, scan failure occurred. WORKAROUND: Type following commands in Domino console: tell mcafeeaddinmgr quit load mcafeeaddinmgr Reference ID: 492299 EPOLICY ORCHESTRATOR ISSUES 1. When the upgrade tool (MSDWePO4ExtUpgrade.exe) is executed, GroupShield 7.0 Patch 1/Patch 2 for Lotus Domino scheduled tasks created using extension/NAP are not upgraded to McAfee Security for Lotus Domino. NOTE: For ePolicy Orchestrator 3.6.1, the upgrade tool is "MSDWePO36ExtUpgrade.exe". WORKAROUND: Create a task using McAfee Security for Lotus Domino extension/NAP. Reference ID: 499568 2. Deploying McAfee Security for Lotus Domino failed on Windows 2008 Server, using ePolicy Orchestrator 3.6.1 with default McAfee Agent NAP. WORKAROUND: a. Check-in McAfee Agent 4.0 Patch 2 NAP file. b. Retry deploying the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino v7.5 (Windows) software. Reference ID: 501459 3. After upgrading to McAfee Security for Lotus Domino v7.5 (Windows) using ePolicy Orchestrator 3.6.1, the ePolicy Orchestrator management for the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino software stopped. WORKAROUND: Restart the "McAfee Framework Service" on the client computer (Lotus Domino server). Reference ID: 497489 4. While removing the McAfee Security for Lotus Domino, v7.5 (Windows) reports extension, the following error appears: "An error occurred while trying to uninstall the extension MSDWREPORTS."
