A new command line switch is supported: --force-filename. 2. The --text switch is now available with --decrypt, in order to force textual data conversion. 3. E-Business Server API Support for C. 4. E-Business Server API Support for Java. 5. E-Business Server API Support for REXX. 6. LPA installation support. 7. Setting the Language Environment runtime option XPLINK(ON) is no longer required. This option is set automatically when the program loads. The Language Environment enclave, created when invoking E-Business Server, will have XPLINK(ON) effective until the program ends. __________________________________________________________ McAfee(R) E-Business Server(TM) Evaluation Note The McAfee E-Business Server product line also has a Partner Edition. Specifically tailored for branch or partner offices in a “hub-and-spoke” implementation, the Partner Edition limits encryption services to itself and the primary or hub site. To get an accurate evaluation of both the standard E-Business Server and the Partner Edition, you can evaluate the standard version of E-Business Server. While the Partner Edition is limited to only 2 encryption keys, it contains the same functionality as the standard version. If you have any questions, please contact a McAfee representative. ____________________________________________ WHAT'S FIXED IN THIS RELEASE 1. E-Business Server now creates valid SDAs when you use pre-allocated temp files (TMPPGPxx). 2. Exporting a PKCS10 certificate request is now working properly. _______________________________________________ KNOWN ISSUES * Third party LDAP directories are not supported in this release. * Until further notice, when invoking the Java API under OS/390 version 2.10, the XPLINK(ON) runtime parameter must be in effect *prior* to the invocation of the Java Virtual Machine. This issue is currently being inspected by Network Associates and IBM. We will post an update when a fix is available. Notice that this applies only for OS/390 version 2.10. _______________________________________________ HINTS AND TIPS * TSO/BATCH: Watch out for sequence numbers in the config file. This may cause config options to not be read correctly. * TSO/BATCH: Make sure the output file is the correct lrecl. If you encrypt --armor, the output file should have at least lrecl 80, otherwise truncation will occur. * TSO/BATCH: You cannot specify the config options RANDSEED, PUBRING SECRING. They currently can only be specified as DD's * All: When encrypting with sda (--encrypt --sda), make sure the data is first converted to the appropriate format. If sending an SDA to a Windows or Unix platform (ASCII), make sure data is first converted to ASCII. There is no --text option when creating SDAs. _______________________________________________ INSTALLATION NOTES Please refer to your installation guide for details on installing. In general, to install the software: 1. Make a dataset with FB and LRECL 3120. It must be 40MB in size. 2. FTP (in binary) the build package into the dataset. 3. Use the install rexx exec to unpackage the build. You will end up with a load library and a samplib. INSTALLING LICENSE FILES You need a license file to make use of McAfee E-Business Server. The license file is part of the distribution. For USS, you will need to FTP (not binary) EBusSvr.lic to the HFS file system and update pgp.cfg with LICENSEFILE="location of EBusSvr.lic". For example: LICENSEFILE ="/u/userid/.pgp/EBusSvr.lic" For MVS, you will need to FTP (not binary) EBusSvr.lic to a sequential dataset with the following attributes: FB, 80, 1 TRK. You must then add the following line to your configuration file (typically HLQ.PGP.CONFIG): LICENSEFILE='DATASET NAME' For example: LICENSEFILE='HLQ.PGP.EBUSSVR.LIC' NOTES FOR MVS INSTALLATIONS Also, make sure that CEE.SCEERUN2 is in the LNKLST. Otherwise, the keyserver and x509 server support will not work. The dataset name may vary from system to system but should contain "SCEERUN2". _______________________________________________ DOCUMENTATION This release includes the following manuals, which can be viewed online as well as printed: * Introduction To Cryptography * McAfee E-Business Server Installation Guide for z/OS and OS/390 * McAfee E-Business Server Product Guide for z/OS and OS/390 These documents are saved in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (.PDF), and are found in the Documentation folder on the distribution CD.
